You don’t have to travel to the canals of Venice or the shores of Maine to enjoy sketching and painting “plein air”. Just look out your back door. We’re surrounded by beauty and drama and color everywhere. In this workshop students will be rendering the Spring beauty and atmosphere surrounding the exotic Arlene’s building and parking lot. We’ll start indoors, discussing design and technique tips for painting and drawing outdoors, and then we’ll head outside to sketch and paint. Students will choose your medium. Kevin will be doing his demos in charcoal, brush & wash, and watercolor, and will include a brief lesson in 1 and 2 point linear perspective. A supply list will be provided upon registration and supplies are not included in the cost of the workshop.

This workshop is done in partnership with the Makers Market at Arlene’s. Please note that It will be held outside under a tent during the Market. In case of severe weather the workshop will be held inside Arlene’s Artist Materials.

Since the Markets began back in 2017, it has been our mission to promote the local creative community while developing a marketplace where people can purchase uniquely crafted items.
