Have you ever wanted to customize your own chocolates for yourself or a special someone? Now you can! In this workshop students will learn about undercuts and what makes a good chocolate mold. They will then sculpt their chocolate designs using a non toxic clay. We will harden the clay in a toaster oven and then use a food-safe silicone putty to create a mold around each sculpture. Students will be sent home with directions for de molding their sculpture and preparing it for casting. Dark chocolate, white chocolate, milk chocolate, even butterscotch baking chips can be melted down and poured into the mold. You can even use your mold to make ice cubes! Please note that due to the introductory nature of this workshop chocolate forms are limited to roughly 2 x 2 x 1/2 inches in size. Supplies are included in the cost of this workshop.
Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
